Millions of unwanted e-mail messages fill email inboxes
every day. Beantree's e-mail system supports the ability
to tag messages which are suspected to be spam. We've experienced
significant success in properly identifying spam with our filters.
Setup:
Simply configure your email program
to filter e-mail with an "X-RBL" header. The following
sample using Microsoft Outlook 2000 is provided as a guide.
Adapt this example to your specific needs.
We do not recommend automatically deleting e-mail using this technique. Putting filtered messages into a separate folder
allows you to review them before deletion.
In Outlook, access the "Rules Wizard" from your
Tools menu:
Rules are listed in the order that they are processed. It
is best if you have other rules to include the new spam filter
rule at the very end, after all other rules have been processed.
In the Rules Wizard, click on the "New
" button
to add the new rule. The type of rule chosen should be "Check
messages when they arrive".
Click "Next >" and then choose the condition
"with specific words in the message header"
Click on the "specific words" link that is in the
Rule description, and enter the text "X-RBL"
Click on "Ok" and then the "Next >"
button to continue to the next screen. There are many options
to choose from on this next screen. We recommend that
you move e-mail which matches this rule to a separate folder,
perhaps called "spam". To do so, click on "move
it to the specified folder" and click on the word "specified"
in the rule description.

Finally, click "Ok". If you don't want any exceptions
to this rule, click on "Finish" and begin seeing
how much of your unwanted spam begins to get filtered. Be
sure to monitor this folder and adjust your exceptions to
this rule as needed.
